Abila LLC, founded by Gabriela Nazario, is a company that designs and manufactures textiles that are hand-woven in USA. Gabriela was born in Puerto Rico and obtained a B.F.A. at Savannah College of Art and Design with a major in Fibers and minors in Accessory Design and Fashion. Since graduating, she has worked for companies in NYC and Atlanta such as Oscar de la Renta, Sachin + Babi, Ankasa and Anne Barge. In 2012, Gabriela decided to fulfill her dream by designing products that are hand-made in USA. She specializes in weaving textiles with a traditional loom which allows her to connect individual yarns by interlacing them into a finished woven. It is a very detailed process being everything hand-made and allowing her to experiment and create amazing textures found in the finest natural yarns like wool, alpaca, silk and cotton. The varieties in color and pattern give each piece a unique personality, which is attributed to the handcrafted process that identifies Abila. Gabriela has also been focusing wall art mixed media which includes drawing, painting, and screen printing. With a wide range of knowledge in art and design, Gabriela is renowned to create memorable and unique statement pieces.
